I'm trying to move beyond just following hype on Twitter and YouTube and actually want to learn how to research crypto projects properly especially early-stage tokens, meme-coins, or even L1/L2 ecosystems.

The problem is, most of the serious research tools people mention are behind paywalls, and I'm not ready to invest that much yet.

I've seen people talk about things like:
  • On-chain analysis
  • Wallet tracking
  • Community sentiment
  • Developer activity
  • Tokenomics breakdowns
But honestly, I'm not sure what's realistic to do for free, or what tools to trust. Also, I keep hearing terms like “narratives” and “early signals,” but how do you actually identify those in a consistent way?

Would appreciate if anyone could break down:
  • What your personal research flow looks like (even a rough idea)?
  • Any truly useful free tools or dashboards?
  • How do you separate noise from real opportunity?
Not looking for shortcuts just trying to learn how people actually build conviction before buying into a project.
